Earth

Happy Earth Day!

Isn't it weird that the earth gets one day? Anyway, anything that promotes awareness of being more eco-friendly is good, I think.

I was reminded that it's earth day by Swistle, who is doing a giveaway in celebration of earth day. Some of the things that she talks about, I already do. I use reusable bags rather than plastic, I use reusable menstrual products (a mooncup UK, and I love it, and I think it's awesome, and I use cloth pads for backup), and I use handkerchiefs instead of tissues most of the time. I make the effort that I can be bothered to make, really. I also gave my sister cloth pads for a birthday present last year.

Anyway, Swistle is having a giveaway in celebration of earth day, but because of postage costs, it's only open to US/canada residents. I totally get this, but I wanted to be able to share the love of reusable products with the rest of the world, so I'm doing a smaller (much, much smaller) giveaway of my own: one winner will get three (3) cloth menstrual pads, from my favourite UK pad maker, Luna Wolf. She's also got a sale on right now, so if you've been meaning to try cloth, go look! The giveaway is for one pantiliner, one medium 9 inch pad, and one long 10 1/4 inch pad, in different floral colours. I am willing to ship anywhere in the world for anyone who wants these, and if nobody does, I can keep them for me! Muahahaha!

To enter, leave a comment before 6pm BST Sunday, 25th April. I'll pick the winner by random number generator. Happy Earth Day!

UPDATE: Vicky of Luna Wolf has sent a picture of the precise pads in the offer. Enjoy!

UPDATE 2: The giveaway is now closed! Thanks to all that entered. The winner is...

...Melanie! Melanie, I will be emailing you to get your address.

I'd like to try them. In fact, I've been meaning to make some. But as the baby needs new clothes, and my sister is pregnant again, it's moved down my to-do project list.

I would love to give them a try! Seems kind of costly in the beginning, but I'm sure over time you'd actually be saving money, and taking much better care of the earth too!

Ha I'm coming over from Swistle as well.

I'm really interested in trying reusable pads, I'd never even thought about it before.

Switched to reusables and a moon cup bout 8 months ago and I have not used a single disposable or tampon since.

I have a couple of different brands and have to say the couple of Lunawolf's are my favourite out of the lot.

Also her way to clean pads is the best mine are hardly stained through following her method

via Swistle - been considering a cup and reusable pads for a while. Maybe winning a couple for free could push my decision into action!
